My Daughter Asked About a Dog We Didn’t Have—Our Secret Code Told Me to Come

Posted on October 17, 2026 By admin

“Dad, did you feed the dog?” My daughter asked the question casually during a phone call from her school trip. We had no dog. Then we spent hours discussing the friendships she thought she had lost. I reminded her that being excluded did not make her less worthy of kindness, and that she deserved friendships in which she felt welcome.
