Before fully pursuing acting, Anderson served in the U.S. Army as part of the Finance Corps. He later continued his education, earning degrees in subjects including English Literature, History, Television Production, Political Science, Economics, and Fine Arts. His academic journey took him to London, where he completed advanced studies at the London School of Economics and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). This strong educational foundation played a key role in shaping his career.
Anderson’s early professional life included teaching Shakespeare in Florida before joining Voice of America, where he worked in film and television. During the Vietnam War, he contributed to building television network facilities in South Vietnam and helped train local staff. His work later extended to Iran, where he collaborated with the U.S. Foreign Service and State Department to help establish radio and television networks. Alongside this, he taught English, organized art exhibits, and produced stage performances, reflecting his broad talents and interests.
